Game Developer at Monokel
The Global Game Jam® (GGJ) is the world's largest game jam event taking place in physical locations across the globe. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development. The first Global Game Jam® was held in January, 2009 with 1600 people jamming in 23 countries. By 2019, the event grew to over 860 sites in 113 countries with over 9000 games created!
Regional Organizer since 2019
As a Regional Organizer (RO), I am responsible to examine, approve and reject site applications during the site registration time period prior to the event for the German speaking countries. The ROs are the first line of communication with the jam site organizers and therefore play a vital role for the success of all the sites. I am very happy to be able to keep helping with this great event, since I moved out of Trier and will not be able to organize its site anymore.
Organizing Trier jamsite (2016-2019)
From 2016 until 2019 I've been the main organizer of the GGJ Jamsite in Trier.
In the first year, we had more than 50 attendants, 69 jammers in 2017 and 85 in 2018.
As the organizer, I was responsible for the whole thing: Looking for sponsors,
the venue, foods and drinks, registrations and lastly for the events procedure itself.
